Jesus’ beautiful success in educating and feeding the 5,000 at first of John 6 is adopted only a few paragraphs later by a corresponding numerical failure: “At this level lots of his disciples turned away and abandoned him” (John 6:66 NLT). Jesus didn’t wring his palms and query his preaching technique; he remained content material, understanding he was within the Father’s will. He had a bigger perspective on what God was doing. Success isn’t at all times greater and higher.
